You will still be responsible for tuition for the current month and each additional month until we are notified as the space is being held for your student.
If paying with a credit card, there will be a 2% surcharge fee per transaction. The office manager will be in the office the 1st week of every month to take cash/check payments. You can also mail in check payments to 217 Winston Road, Jonesville, NC 28642. You can also place cash/check payments in an envelope and drop in our mailbox beside the entrance.
Family discount: Family tuition works the same as one student taking multiple classes. Dancers must be siblings living in the same household to receive the family discount.
Year End Performance
Our Year End Performance date and location is anticipated to be on May 17, 2025 at Elkin High School Dixon’s Auditorium. The Tumbling Performance is held on May 18, 2025 and the Ninja Warrior Performance is held on May 19, 2025 during their regular class time at Kristy’s Dance Academy.
Each family and student will have an opportunity to purchase a t-shirt. All tumbling and Ninja Warrior students will be required to purchase the end of year performance t-shirt to wear when performing. All students will be awarded a trophy and/or medal at the end of the performances. You can also download the pictures from each performance from our website or Facebook page.
Costume Fees
A costume deposit per student of $60 is due October 1. Costume balance per student of $60 is due November 1. A combination costume will be used for Ballet, Tap, and Jazz. A dancer must be signed up for their ballet, tap, and jazz classes on the same night otherwise they will have multiple costume fees. Other classes, such as tumbling, hip hop, and Ninja Warrior can be on the same night or a different night. Costume fees cover all costs of the costume and tights for dancers, all needed accessories, and use of any props. Students that are in any of the following classes (tumbling or Ninja Warrior) will pay a costume fee ($20 or less to cover the t-shirt required for the end of year performance). They will be given out prior to the performance. A Hip Hop costume will be determined in the fall and an email will be sent out regarding the cost.
General Policies
- Upon registration each family must have a credit card on file. For those not wishing to have auto-payments, the card will only be used in the event of overdue charges. Please make sure to update your account if you receive a new card for any reason.
- Tuition and account balances must be up-to-date and paid at the beginning of each month. An account is overdue if no payment is made by the 15th. An email reminder will be sent. KDA can place a late fee of $15 on the account if your account becomes past due. In the event of delinquent accounts, we reserve the right to remove a student from our rosters. In difficult situations, arrangements can be discussed with the office staff.
- Tuition is the same each month regardless of the number of weeks in a month, student absences, holidays, weather related closures, etc.
- We do not allow parents, grandparents, etc. in the classrooms with the children. We do not have a lot of room for spectators and over the years we have learned that our children do best when they do not have an audience as they are learning. We will have a recital at the end of the year so that you can see what they have learned. An assigned adult and/or the teachers will meet your children at the door and assist them to class. We do understand that this can be scary for our Discovery and their parents. Our staff have years of experience and know that children may cry at first. If this is the case, we will follow the parent’s lead as to if we take the child back or they leave with them and try again another time. If your child was crying when we take them back, the assigned adult checks in with the teacher throughout the class to see how they are adjusting and will keep you informed.
- In the event of inclement weather, refer to our website, our Facebook page, or Instagram for closing updates. Make-up classes will be at the program’s discretion.
- Please email us to let us know if your child will be out. You will still be charged for this class because it is set as a monthly fee and we are holding your child’s space. We can not do make-up classes if your child misses, this is only an option if KDA has to close. If your child can no longer attend classes, please notify Crystal Nunnemaker (office manager) or send an email asap. You will continue to be charged for the class until we have been notified. All fees are non-refundable.
- Please check out our website www.kristysdanceacademy.com We have an All About KDA section that introduces the staff. We also have a Frequently Asked Questions section that answers a lot of questions for that first-time dancer and parent as well as our returning students and parents.
- Make sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook. We post pictures and information throughout the season
